How do I apply to get a plaque for my older home?
Please complete the Plaque for Historic Recognition Form. We ask that you allow us 30 calendar days to review your request and we will provide a written response to you. If you need help completing the form or have questions, please contact one of the Board Members.
How much does a plaque cost?
We are a non-profit and do not have any steady stream of funding, we must ask each property-owner to pay the entire cost of the plaque.
I want to become a member. How much is the membership fee?
Membership fees are different for individuals, families, local non-profit organizations, and businesses. We also offer annual and lifetime memberships.
I want to attend a presentation. Do I have to be a paying member?
No. All our presentations are free community events and open to the public free of charge.
I want to provide a presentation. Who do I contact?

I love to do research. How can I help?
You can contact one of the Board Trustees and we will gladly give you ideas for topics to research. You can also pick your own topic. You must relate it to Lower Swatara Township. If after you do the research and you want to provide an article, we can place it on the website, FB, or share it at the next community presentation.
Can I volunteer without joining the society?
Of course. We need all kinds of volunteers. People who like photography, those who work with their hands like masons, carpenters, electricians, etc. We need folks to help review plaque applications, organize memberships, do mailings, plant flowers and trees, etc.
As a business owner, I'd like to sponsor this group. Who do I contact?
To be a business sponsor, you can simply complete the membership form and become a supporting member.
